Asia Marketing Manager

A unique opportunity has emerged for an experienced Marketing Manager to oversee the strategy and execution of marketing plans with the objective of raising the brand awareness and client engagement across Asia. The role will supervise and help to deliver sales and marketing campaigns within specified industries, practices and firm initiatives.

The Asia Marketing Manager will be responsible for the development and execution of marketing strategy and plans across Asia incorporating a variety of input from creative, research, and client-facing teams. The person will also operate as an integral part of Ashurst's global Business Development & Marketing team providing specialist skills, innovative and creative thinking and commercial advice.

Key responsibilities

  • Initiating, developing and executing marketing strategy and plans tailored to the Asia jurisdictions (China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and Indonesia) to ensure campaigns are focused on growth areas and consistently implemented across Asia
  • Co-developing industry-focused marketing strategy with the global/regional Industry BD Leaders ensuring the strategy and plan are adjusted/modified to meet Asia practices' and clients' needs and cultures
  • Collaborating with Global Brand and Communications team to align with branding initiatives and ensure consistency of brand messaging and delivery
  • Leading and managing the events across Asia, leveraging resources to create greater efficiencies and working with local teams to execute the events
  • Managing sponsorships and marketing budget together with local team members, identifying leverage and efficiencies where possible across Asia
  • Managing industry directories and awards processes across Asia

Essential skills and experience

  • Demonstrated experience in:
    • developing firm-wide and industry-specific marketing strategies and successful implementations with proven results preferably in a professional services environment
    • dealing with internal and external clients at all levels to influence and guide the direction of marketing strategies and campaigns
    • working in the Asian market with strong understanding of cultural differences and work approaches
    • coordinating cross-border projects and prioritising conflicting priorities to meet deadlines
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively with analytical skills to forecast and identify trends and challenges through research, data analytics and reporting
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including strong command of English and Chinese (Simplified, Mandarin) preferred
