The opportunity:

We currently have an exciting opportunity available for an enthusiastic and committed Business Development Executive to join our clients team in Sydney or Melbourne.

As a Business Development Executive your role will be to provide BD support to the senior client relationship manager (banks), the bank industry lead partners, and the client relationship partners for the major Australian banks. You will be responsible for providing support on an extensive range of client relationship initiatives for the banks, including pitches and marketing materials, client communications, client events and meeting preparation, client and bank industry research and the regular reporting requirements for the Australian banks.

You will have a bright and enquiring mind that has a natural interest in the challenges faced across financial markets.

Essential Skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Marketing or relevant degree
  • Previous experience of 3 plus years in a similar role
  • Previous experience in a professional services or relevant environment
  • Ability to switch between detail and the bigger picture
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)

  • Ability to effectively interact with peers and internal clients including senior stakeholders – especially under deadline pressure
  • Flexibility and willingness to go the extra mile
  • Positive attitude toward work and a desire to learn and develop the role
  • Enthusiastic and proactive, with the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication – able to write clearly, concisely and to a high standard, with an excellent grasp of grammar and punctuation
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills
  • Commercial awareness and ability to bring the client's perspective into the frame
  • Ability to deal directly with clients and client representatives where appropriate
  • Ability to work autonomously when required as well as ability to work within a team and take direction from others
  • High level of confidentiality, discretion and diplomacy
