The Role

As part of the Clients & Markets team, you will play a hands-on role in contributing to the firm's success and helping to achieve its objectives.

Working with business leaders, you will be executing business development activities in a way that is aligned with the firm’s go to market strategy.

Reporting to the Head of Clients & Markets, you will be meaningfully contributing to the identification of opportunities, development of client strategy and provide marketing advice as well as project management, industry specialisation go-to market strategies, research and CRM support and supporting partners in executing their personal and team business growth plans.

Part of the role will also include assisting the Head of Clients and Markets and the Melbourne Managing Partner in reporting on growth initiatives and local strategy more broadly, to the wider partner group.

Key Responsibilities

Market strategy

  • Conduct research on market trends/developments to proactively identify opportunities for the firm’s industry/service teams.
  • Track industry and competitor activity to be able to inform the development of marketing strategies and profiling plans.
  • Develop efficient reporting/communication mechanisms to share intel developed through research/monitoring initiatives.

BD support

  • Support the firm’s BD framework to build strategic client relationships through insight and demonstrated understanding.
  • Work with industry groups and service teams to develop and coordinate marketing strategies and supporting plans.
  • Work with business leaders to develop and implement ‘go to market’ plans and actions, including execution support and reporting on progress.

CRM

  • Coordinate BDO’s CRM program.
  • CRM reporting and analytics to help the business manage and track opportunities, pipeline and other priority BD initiatives.
  • Develop initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the CRM program and its ability to drive strategic BD behaviours.

Clients & Markets support

  • Keep abreast of client needs and proactively identify business opportunities.
  • Liaise with C&M team to support marketing and brand initiatives, including publications, collateral, events and digital presence.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience required

The successful candidate will be tertiary qualified in marketing or a related discipline and have 5+ years’ BD experience. You will be pro-active, have strong attention to detail and be able to build meaningful relationships with business leaders. Essential to the success of this role is your demonstrated CRM skills coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
