This position is responsible for providing dedicated business development and marketing support to a number of practice and sector groups in the Singapore office, as well as in some areas at an APAC level as required.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Senior BD & Marketing Executive, working with members of the APAC MBD team, in the delivery of the marketing and business development strategies and initiatives for a number of practice and sector groups in the Singapore office, as well as support on ASEAN initiatives as required and some APAC responsibilities in relation to the same.
  • Proactively manage the business development and marketing efforts for the assigned practice and sector groups, working closely and building good relationships with internal stakeholders. You will work closely with members of the wider regional and global MBD team on the implementation of regional/global initiatives for the assigned practice and sector groups for the Singapore office.

Branding, Marketing & Communications - Building awareness and positioning

  • Plan, develop and implement effective marketing communication campaigns, including managing campaigns on social media, in line with go-to market strategy.
  • Develop and maintain quality and up-to-date marketing collaterals including brochures, letters, intranet and website, and fee earner biographies.
  • Collaborate with the HR department on recruitment branding and marketing.
  • Project manage the annual directory/awards submissions process for the assigned practice/sector groups, working closely with key internal stakeholders and providing recommendations. Track published rankings outcome and maintain accolades/credentials database for the practice/sector groups.
  • Develop noteworthy content relating to the assigned practice/sector groups for the global-wide internal publication (Birdtalk), as well as preparing and issuing press releases and coordinating other PR activity (including social media).
  • Manage client newsletters and legal updates
  • End to end support on events (including virtual) for practice/sector groups, ensuring that objective and value are achieved and recorded.
  • Assist in assessing value of marketing sponsorships (paid written opportunities and events) and implement sponsorship activities and track outcomes.
  • Corporate / festive gifts and e-cards – liaising with vendors on design/production of corporate premium in line of budgets and manage inventory/stock.

Business Development – Translating insights and ideas into business growth

  • Using market awareness and product knowledge to identify hot topics and trends which support the practice and sector groups’ business development strategy.
  • Identify and qualify business opportunities, working closely with fee earners and regional and global counterparts on pitches and capability statements, and track pitch outcomes.
  • Facilitate cross-selling opportunities with other appropriate sector/practice/country teams.
  • Working closely with partners and other fee earners on client development and prospect targeting initiatives.
  • Undertake research into clients and prospects and produce related reports.

Client Management – Strengthening and deepening client relationships

  • Develop best practices and maintain the CRM database (OnePlace) and support its development across the Singapore office.
  • Work with members in the key client service team and ensure emphasis is placed on clients in the firm-wide Key Client Programme, and promote the firm’s client service tools.
  • Assist in the global client survey (undertaken once every two years) for the Singapore office.
  • Coordinate firm’s donations and sponsorships for specific clients’ activity.
  • Monitor and respond to client/BD queries.

MBD Team Admin & Infrastructure

  • Develop standard operating procedures and work processes to enhance team productivity and efficiency.
  • Maintain the MBD infrastructure and setting up of meetings, general team related admin.
  • Attend appropriate group meetings with regional and international colleagues, actively contribute ideas and follow up regarding relevant initiatives.
  • Other ad hoc MBD related duties as assigned.



  • Degree in Business Administration/Marketing/Mass Communications or equivalent.
  • At least 4 years’ experience in business development and marketing, preferably in the legal/professional services industry.
  • Highly proficient in written and verbal English, with excellent content writing and editing skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in managing stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Strong working knowledge of email campaign systems and social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter).
  • Experience in client relationship management systems.
  • Good commercial acumen with focus on delivery of exceptional client service.
  • Excellent project management and deadline management skills – able to identify, manage and deliver against competing priorities.
  • Effective organisation of information and the upkeep of group MBD infrastructure.
