The role

An exciting 12 month contract opportunity has arisen for a Clients & Markets Adviser to provide professional support to Australia's leading Major Projects and Construction team in the management of bids, development and implementation of client and business development plans, and associated marketing activities. This role will see you interacting daily with Partners, advising on all aspects of the bid process, client and events management, research and analysis, writing and preparation of other marketing collateral and client communications.

The Clients and Markets (Business Development) team

The Clients and Markets team is responsible for advising and providing services to the business on practice group and client development opportunities. This includes the full spectrum of the marketing mix from bid management and opportunity identification to client relationship management and the development of tailored marketing materials. It also includes an active role in event management, client, market and industry research and analysis, media and corporate affairs, legal communications and branding and design.

Key responsibilities

This fast-paced and busy role will see you working closely with the Clients & Markets Manager to:

  • Manage and prepare tender responses and submissions for the group
  • Conduct research and analyse market, industry, competitor and prospective client information to support business development initiatives
  • Prepare tailored marketing collateral (including partner profiles, capability statements, client and industry presentations, etc.)
  • Assist in the management of key client accounts
  • Develop strategy and manage implementation of direct marketing initiatives and client events
  • Coordinate the practice group's input into legal directories and industry publications
  • Update Clients and Markets tools and databases
  • Participate in various national and cross practice area business development projects designed to achieve more effective and consistent practices and processes
  • Develop profile and credibility with internal clients (i.e. lawyers and other employees), actively promoting the Clients and Markets function, its expertise and capabilities.

Skills & Experience

As the successful candidate you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in marketing, or business-related discipline or law
  • At least 3 years' experience as a hands on bid coordinator in a professional services environment is desirable
  • Business development, marketing, communications or marketing related experience desirable
  • Highly developed communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels
  • Energy, drive, resilience and a sense of urgency and commitment that will enable you to guide and influence decision making, as well as organise and manage business development activities
