The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Events and Business Development Adviser to provide professional support to our Perth office in the management of events, and to support with bids, development and implementation of client and business development plans, and associated marketing activities. This role will see you interacting daily with Partners and the C&M team, advising on all aspects of events management, implementation of industry and key client account plans, tenders and capability material, research and analysis, and writing and preparation of other marketing collateral and client communications.

Key Responsibilities

This fast-paced and busy role will see you working on:

  • Managing implementation and logistics for internal and external firm client events including conferences, seminars, briefings, luncheons, and client entertainment.
  • Project managing and preparing tender responses and submissions
  • Preparing tailored marketing collateral (including partner profiles, capability statements)
  • Assisting in the management of key client accounts including updating and monitoring plans and helping execute initiatives
  • Assisting in the management of key industry and collaboration plans including updating and monitoring plans and helping executive initiatives.
  • Conducting research and analysing market, industry, competitor and prospective client information to support business development initiatives
  • Updating Clients and Markets tools and databases
  • Developing a profile and credibility with internal clients (i.e. lawyers and other employees), actively promoting the Clients and Markets function, its expertise and capabilities.

Skills & Experience

As a successful candidate you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in marketing, or business-related discipline or law
  • At least 3 years' experience as a hands on bid coordinator in a professional services environment is desirable Business development, marketing, communications or marketing related experience desirable
  • Highly developed communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels
  • Energy, drive, resilience and a sense of urgency and commitment that will enable you to guide and influence decision making, as well as organise and manage business development activities

In addition to this, we're looking for a resilient, self-starter. Someone who is able to work autonomously and is focused on attention to details and providing an outstanding service to their clients.

The Clients and Markets Team

The Clients and Markets team is responsible for advising and providing services to the business on office-wide business development initiatives, practice development and client development opportunities. This includes the full spectrum of the marketing mix from bid management and opportunity identification to client relationship management and the development of tailored marketing materials. It also includes an active and key role in event management, client, market and industry research and analysis, media and corporate affairs, legal communications and branding and design.
