The Clients and Markets (Business Development) team

Our Clients and Markets team provide advice on practice group, client development and firm marketing opportunities. This includes the full spectrum of the marketing mix from client relationship management and opportunity identification, to tender management, digital strategy, and branding and design. It also includes an active role in client, market and industry research and analysis, media and corporate affairs, legal communications and event management.

The role

An exciting permanent opportunity has arisen for a Clients & Markets Adviser to work with our Commercial Litigation and Restructuring & Insolvency practice groups. This position actively advises on the creation and implementation of business and client development initiatives including profiling and positioning, client pursuits and relationship management, client feedback, research and analysis, project management and writing of proposals and other marketing collateral, events, and other client communications.

Key responsibilities

This fast-paced role will see you working closely with the Clients & Markets Manager to:

  • Develop and implement go to market strategies and practice group plans
  • Advise on and prepare tailored marketing collateral (including partner profiles, capability statements, client and industry presentations, etc.)
  • Monitor new business and tender opportunities and prepare relevant tender responses and submissions
  • Assist in the management of practice group key client accounts and pursuits, including client feedback and review programs
  • Conduct research and analyse market, industry, competitor and prospective client information to support business development initiatives
  • Collaborate with the communications and digital team on thought leadership opportunities, as well as maintaining an up to-date digital profile for the practice groups
  • Co-ordinate the practice groups' input into legal directories and industry publications
  • Participate in various national and cross practice area business development projects
  • Develop profile and credibility with internal clients (i.e. lawyers and other employees), actively promoting the Clients and Markets function, its expertise and capabilities.

Skills & Experience

As the successful candidate you will have:

  • Ideally at least 3 years' business development, marketing, communications or marketing related experience
  • Highly developed communication skills, both written and oral, with exceptionally strong attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels
  • Energy, drive, resilience and commitment that will enable you to influence decision making, as well as organise and manage business development activities
  • Experience with tenders/proposals in a professional services environment desirable.
