About the Role

We are looking for a Business Development Advisor to join our Business Development and Marketing Team on a 10 month parental-leave cover contract. The role can be based in Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney, and will support two of our industry sector groups as well as working with Business Development Managers to provide BD support across the practice. Responsibilities include:

  • Working with partners across the practice to manage overarching BD & marketing strategic plans for two of our industry focus areas (Education and Transport), including providing relevant advice around market analysis, profiling, client pursuits and pricing
  • Providing support to BD Managers on strategic client relationships across the firm's key client program
  • Preparation of capability statements, tenders and proposals with oversight of BD Managers
  • Provide support to the BD Manager group on ad-hoc projects including marketing budget planning, directory submissions, large campaigns and proposals etc
  • Communications and media: work with Communications team to assist with input into media campaigns; award submissions; online and social media activities; and other relevant comms activities and materials
  • Branding: work with Director of Marketing and BD and Communications Manager to ensure brand activities align with related BD activity, practice and individual practice group levels
  • Events: liaise with events team to assist in planning and managing relevant events
  • Provide support on some of the administrative tasks for the BD team including tender and client feedback tracking, client referrals and key client reporting

The successful candidate

You will be supported in this close knit team, given training, mentoring and guidance from your peers and leader. We are looking for a candidate with the confidence needed to advise the partners and take on and manage tasks in support of the senior BD team members. You will need to be self-motivated and adaptable in this dynamic environment. Ideal background and skills include:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
  • Sound understanding of professional services firm marketing theory and related concepts/structures/activities
  • Proven experience in working with business areas and practice groups to progress BD, marketing and CRM-specific strategies and activities
  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing, business or communications
  • Excellent customer service and client-centric work ethic
  • Sound knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel), Interaction and related IT platforms
  • A team player with strong verbal and written communication skills
