Why are we looking?

An opportunity now exists for a talented Communications Manager to join the Communications team. This is a 12 month contract role based in Melbourne or Sydney.

In this role you will be working closely with the Chief of Staff and Director of Communications and other other members of the Communications team to manage and implement firm-wide strategic communications. At times you will also have a direct working relationship with the CEO.

You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, sound judgement, be able to work under pressure, strong media relations and content development skills, strong campaign management capabilities, including the ability to be outcome oriented and deadline driven, and a professional and responsive approach to client service.

The role requires you to work well proactively and autonomously while also being a team player. You will be required to demonstrate strong stakeholder management skills and have the ability to influence, excellent attention to detail and follow-up skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Chief of Staff and Director of Communications on key strategic communication priorities (internal and external communications). This will involve working directly with the CEO at times and will require some interstate travel.
  • The external promotion of key practice groups and practice group leaders with a focus on media relations and insight-based content
  • Assisting in the delivery of other profile-raising initiatives such as award submissions and corporate sponsorships, as relevant.

Required Qualifications and Preferred Experience

  • A communications degree or relevant business qualification
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in corporate communications
  • Media and content experience (either from in-house or agency roles)
  • Experience in the development and delivery of communication campaigns with a focus on measurable outcomes and commercial impact
  • People management experience not required but favourable
