An independent and leading actuarial and analytics consulting firm, our client provides innovative advice to government and business. Based out of Sydney, this role will report directly to the Brand and Business Development Manager and support the entire business.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a rapidly growing business, driving business development initiatives and winning the firm more work. Responsible for developing high quality, client focussed marketing collateral, pitches, tenders and reports, you will work closely with external graphic designers and marketing specialists. With a goal of honing the consultants business development skills, coaching will be an integral part of the role.

Role responsibilities

  • Identify new client opportunities, drive the creation of proposals and tenders, and prepare consultants for pitches
  • Develop high quality, brand focussed, concise content for proposals, pitches and presentations
  • Drive profitable growth by implementing the firms business development and marketing strategy
  • Develop strong and influential relationships with internal stakeholders and colleagues at all levels
  • Write communication materials including for the firms website, intranet and social media
  • Engage with external service providers including graphic designers and marketing specialists to develop brand collateral
  • Coach consultants in all aspects of business development
  • Be a collegiate and supportive member to the team, willing to assist with ad-hoc tasks as needed.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Proven experience in a business development role within professional services
  • Experience communicating technical content highly regarded
  • Experience working with government (especially procurement) high regarded
  • Genuine interest in business development and client experience
  • Be a confident communicator, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence and win the confidence of management, stakeholders and clients
  • Strong writer with the ability to proof read and edit copy
  • Show attention to detail, drive, initiative and a willingness to learn
  • Be proactive and utilise own judgement to push forward and solve problems
  • Work both autonomously and part of a multi-layered team
  • Energy, passion and discretion
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities under pressure or within tight timescales
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
