Not your typical law firm, our client is considered to be Australia's leading national law firm with offices across each Australian State and Territory. 

Reporting directly to the National BD and Marketing Manager and covering a range of practice groups, you will be responsible for all BD and marketing initiatives and will work in an advisory capacity with partners. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing, commercial and growing firm who is pushing the boundaries on client value and retention. 

Role responsibilities:

  • Work in partnership with the relevant National and State Practice Group Heads to develop and maintain a business development action plan, and help implement the plan.
  • Advise and coach partners on client relationship management, new client acquisition and practice development (including opportunity identification and profile building) activities.
  • Advise and work with partners on BD initiatives including profile raising, client and market opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively across the firm to identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities, including new client opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of industry developments, significant market participants and industry trends in order to evaluate our market positioning and to identify growth opportunities.
  • Work with the client team on key clients within your practice groups.
  • Monitor and report on practice performance against the agreed business development action plan.
  • Maintain all marketing collateral and capability statements. 
  • Work with the Marketing Assistant on website and intranet content.
  • Be involved in firm-wide ad hoc projects.

Required skills and qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification in a business-related discipline marketing or law highly regarded.
  • Experience working in professional services, preferably in a legal or partnership environment.
  • Experience with tenders/proposals in a professional services environment.
  • Highly developed communication skills, both written and oral with exceptionally strong attention to detail.
  • Highly disciplined with ability to prioritise and manage a range of complex tasks in a deadline driven environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and project management skills.
  • The ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels.
  • Technical skills in Microsoft Office and any CRM systems.
  • Energy, drive, resilience and a sense of urgency and commitment that will enable you to influence stakeholders and outcomes in a considered manner.
