Dalton Handley is partnering with an exceptional legal services firm; a firm performing extremely strongly despite today's uncertain market, to recruit a talented Communications Manager to join their sophisticated and high-performing Communications team in either Sydney or Melbourne. One of the most  profitable legal services providers in the Australian market, this full-service law firm advises on global matters with some of the best lawyers in the market. They are at the forefront of some of the most high-profile public international law matters in our region, assisting governments and corporations with the resolution of highly complex cross-border disputes and transactions. 

Reporting to a talented, engaging and empowering leader, you will form a key function in the team held in high regard by the Partnership and broader firm. The Communications Manager will deliver day to day strategic and tactical communications in addition to other innovative projects and programmes that can be tailored to the skills and experience of the successful candidate.


Key Responsibilities

  • The external promotion of key practice groups and practice group leaders with a focus on media relations and insight-based content
  • Develop and position your own communications initiatives to the firm
  • Working with the wider communications team to promote graduate recruitment programs and to support the People & Performance team to positively position the firm in external communications (video, social media etc.) targeting this audience
  • Assisting in the creation and delivery of an internal best-practice training video series
  • Assisting in the delivery of other profile-raising initiatives such as award submissions and corporate sponsorships, as relevant
  • Supporting the Director of Communications as required on key strategic communication priorities (internal and external communication)

Skills and qualifications

  • A communications degree or relevant business qualification
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in corporate communications, ideally with specific legal industry expertise
  • Media and content experience (either from in-house or agency roles)
  • Experience in the development and delivery of communication campaigns with a focus on measurable outcomes and commercial impact
  • People management experience not required but favourable
