By joining this sophisticated, well-resourced and high-calibre BD and client function, you will be part of the firm’s exciting growth phase and work directly with leadership and clients.

To help underpin this exciting and ambitious new growth phase, we are seraching for an experienced, driven and professional Portfolio Manager to manage some of the firm’s Energy and Resources practice BD efforts, and significant client accounts in this exciting newly created role. Supported by a dedicated Adviser and Coordinator, as a team you, will drive client retention, client development, opportunity pipeline and firm profiling.

Reporting to a highly experienced and influential leadership team, this senior role will contribute to the firm’s market share, client retention and development, product development and new business development initiatives by:

  • providing strategic insight and commercial advice to the Partners and Lawyers across the portfolio who will welcome innovative ideas and “out of the box” solutions;
  • identifying and prioritising opportunities at a client and market level and working with the partnership to development and implement pursuit strategies, including profiling initiatives where required;
  • developing your reputation as an expert adviser to the Partners and Lawyers by being aware of and sharing market, sector/industry, competitor, client and firm intelligence and insight;
  • coaching and preparing partners to pursue key opportunities, pitches and beauty parades;
  • managing the tender and submission process through providing strategic advice on messaging, pricing, project management and commercially driven drafting;
  • aligning resources (from within your team and across the firm where necessary) to execute on strategy. Escalating where required to achieve required outcome; and coaching and developing your team.

This opportunity will suit candidates from tier-1 professional services firms or other sophisticated B2B services businesses bringing:

  • Strategic and tactical marketing experience
  • Sales theory and strategy, including pricing
  • Project management and facilitation skills
  • Advanced business writing skills
  • Advanced presentation skills (oral presentation skills and the ability to present with impact)
  • People management/development/mentoring skills
