Our client is a highly regarded Australian law firm that is rapidly growing. With depth and breadth of expertise across a number of practices and industry sectors, they are an exciting firm to work for. We are working closely with them to recruit an ambitious Business Development Advisor into their growing and successful team.

Based in Perth, reporting directly to the Business Development & Marketing Manager - Commercial, this role supports business development initiatives that enable the Commercial partners to grow their business and enhance client relationships.

Role responsibilities

  • Advise on business development, marketing and practice development strategies, and action outcomes for the Commercial practice.
  • Identify business development and cross-selling opportunities across the firm.
  • Build your profile and credibility with internal stakeholders and actively promote the Business Development function.
  • Work on relevant selected key client accounts.
  • Work with the Bids & Pursuits on tender submissions including RFPs, proposals and capability statements.
  • Update content for credentials, brochures and CVs.
  • Work with the Communications team to identify profile-raising opportunities, such as PR and media, content marketing and website content.
  • Directory and award submissions.
  • Work with the BD & Marketing Manager – Commercial on business and industry association relationships.
  • Work with the Events team in planning commercial client events and sponsorships.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline highly regarded.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in a professional services BD, marketing or communications role.
  • Proposals, tenders and bids experience desirable.
  • Understanding of marketing theory, concepts and practice.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 2010.
  • Be a confident communicator, both verbal and written; excellent English grammar and sound drafting skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and be flexible to move between multiple projects.
  • Ability to liaise and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Work both autonomously and part of a team.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn, energy, enthusiasm and initiative.
  • Be creative with an eye for detail.
