An opportunity has emerged for an enthusiastic, client-focused and experienced Business Development Consultant to join our Business Development team, based in Melbourne.

This position reports to a Senior Business Development Manager and is responsible for providing ongoing BD support for:

  • The national litigation and regulatory practice
  • One of the firm's most significant sectors (which involves taking a lead on development and execution of the strategic direction for that sector in the Australian firm, working with a cross practice partner team, leading client relationship meetings, running flagship events, liaison with your counterparts at the international firm and a range of other activities
  • Two key clients (which involves running client relationship meetings, supporting BD initiatives for that client, executing on client project plans, assisting with client reporting and so on)

The successful candidate will enjoy a dynamic and varied role and be responsible for business development planning, research and analysis, campaign development and implementation, preparing capability statements and assisting with pitches/tenders.  You will also get involved with legal directories, client strategy and client relationship management.  The candidate will enjoy working within a high quality team, is comfortable with partner interface and for working autonomously (supported by a team of managers across the country), and able to deal with a fast paced environment.

You will ideally have a Degree in Marketing (a Law, Commerce or Business related degree would also be considered) and will pride yourself on your written (and verbal) communication skills, project planning, meticulous attention to detail and ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships (internally and externally) whilst consistently exceeding expectations.
