JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a motivated individual, who is interested in seeking new challenges, to join our Firm as Marketing & Business Development Executive. This position will report to the Head of Business Development and shall be responsible for implementing various marketing initiatives in Singapore and the region. You will work closely with a global team of marketing professionals, lawyers and staff members in support of various practice and firm initiatives. The role will involve extensive and varied responsibility in a hands-on role and shall include but not be limited to: content development for brochures, newsletters, website, media announcements and other similar client facing materials, competitive intelligence gathering and research, monitoring of marketing spend, proposal writing, event management and numerous other day-to-day client-focused initiatives. This role provides an excellent opportunity to build upon your project management skills in a dynamic and evolving environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with lawyers and staff members.
  • Work proactively and reactively with respect to all lawyer needs and queries. Follow through to ensure needs are met.
  • Manage logistics and execution of client events and seminars. Support pre and post-event business development including follow-ups with participants as needed.
  • Draft marketing content for use in brochures, newsletters, media and internal announcements, website updates and other collateral. Keep up with best practices, templates and styles to ensure consistent deliverables.
  • Regularly review practice descriptions and other relevant collateral and coordinate updates as needed.
  • Manage lawyer submissions for select legal directories.
  • Work with the Head of Business Development to draft and produce pitch documents; substantively support the development of proposals and responses to RFPs; assist in preparing and coaching for client meetings.
  • Assist with the development of annual practice group plans and budgets. Track YTD expenses against budgets and marketing plans as required.
  • Together with the Head of Business Development, identify and develop initiatives and relationship-building and brand awareness activities for existing clients and targeted prospects.
  • Conduct business development research (for client meetings, prospect qualification, client satisfaction interviews, proposals and conferences).
  • Work with lawyers to publish regular client alerts, articles and other written materials.
  • Assist lawyers in making edits to their bios, including coaching on best practices, writing narrative and matters.
  • Work with outside vendors as necessary.
  • Proactively seek out projects and opportunities to advance knowledge and skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES):

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English are essential.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated and self-confident with a flair for developing strong inter-personal relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Strong event management experience.
  • Understanding of, and fluency with, core practice areas of a legal practice.
  • Strong business acumen – current affairs, competitive analysis/research, opportunity evaluation.
  • Respond promptly and positively to requests for service and assistance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. InterAction experience a plus.
  • Experience with research tools and general internet research fluency.
  • Must be comfortable demonstrating initiative and able to think critically and creatively.
  • Strong research skills; ability to synthesize data and communicate it effectively.
  • High sense of responsibility, accountability and a focus on responsiveness.
  • Ability to work with all Marketing functional teams and be familiar with the operations and responsibilities of each.
  • 3+ years relevant experience preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • University degree.
