Senior Business Development Executive

Grant Thornton Australia is growing and with growth comes the opportunity for an ambitious senior business development executive to play a pivotal role in delivering our 2020 strategy.

In this role you will support local business development activities and work closely with the Senior Business Development Manager (SBDM) and other stakeholders. You will use your skills to help the Sydney partnership to pursue and win work.

With experience across the business development and marketing sphere, you will support partners with developing and pursuing opportunities through active use of the CRM (Salesforce) and the firm’s pursuit models. You will also assist with client retention activities and business development planning.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist SBDM with growth planning and relationship management of key clients across the Sydney office
  • Support high value/strategic pursuit activity
  • Work with partners and teams to deliver high quality proposal documents
  • Manage content for proposals across industry groups, service lines and key prospects.
  • Support the development of new content and maintain up-to-date content, including ensuring appropriate file management
  • Actively engage in Salesforce training and promotion
  • Assist the SBDM in other strategic initiatives, local market communications and client activities
  • Collaborate with the broader Marketing team members to ensure integration of BD and strategic marketing activities and contributing to the overall success of the function

You will be agile, responsive and intuitive. This role will suit someone with the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Minimum 5 years marketing experience, preferably in a professional services environment
  • Understanding of a B2B, services environment
  • Experience working in a high pressure environment with multiple stakeholders and moving variables (eg timeframes, content)
  • Demonstrated project coordination ability
  • Experience in working across state and national offices to achieve business growth objectives
  • Strong computer skills, including advanced Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Degree qualifications in marketing or related business discipline
  • Demonstrates initiative and follows through with projects
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to think creatively
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Ability to manage and negotiate competing priorities
  • Ability to work under pressure and cope with stressful situations
  • Resilience
  • Ability to build strong personal networks, and influence, at all levels within the firm
  • Can-do, enthusiastic attitude
  • Customer service focused work ethic
  • Ability to work autonomously and with minimal supervision
