Marketing & Business Development Executive

Griffith Hack is an Intellectual Property (IP) firm, a part of the IPH Ltd Group. Griffith Hack is now looking for a full-time Marketing & Business Development Executive to join our National Marketing Team in Sydney.

The role is being offered on a contract basis (approximately nine months) to cover a period of parental leave within the team. We would like the successful candidate to start in mid-January or early February 2020.

Reporting to the National Marketing & Communications Manager, your daily responsibilities will vary and generally include (but not limited to):

Business Development

  • Develop business development plans with practice groups, and drive their implementation with the relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and shape tender proposals, including drafting and reviewing for relevant fee earners.
  • Coach fee earners in best practice business development strategy and practice.
  • Maintain and apply knowledge of IP industry trends to identify opportunities and threats, and advise on appropriate response.
  • Facilitating client and pursuit teams, providing support.

Client Relationship Program (CRP)

  • Work with client group to review research and understand client goals, needs and IP portfolio requirements.
  • Assist client group, prioritise goals identified in the CRP, providing advice on client management.
  • Provide management and reporting on client groups CRP activity.

Marketing and Communications

  • Plan seminars, conferences and other firm events, supported by the Marketing Assistant.
  • Identify and refer appropriate content marketing opportunities to the National Manager, providing support where required to ensure execution and maximum exposure.
  • Work with fee earners to draft high quality submissions for relevant ranking surveys and publications.
  • Contribute content where needed for the website.
  • Investigate and analyse market trends of Practice Groups and keep abreast of competitors.

Marketing Projects

  • Lead and/or contribute to Griffith Hack marketing/BD projects.

Marketing Operations

  • Contribute to reports for leadership and other senior stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of a marketing dashboard, selecting and tracking relevant metrics.
  • Review campaigns and initiatives after completion.
  • Provide internal training and/or coaching to Practice Groups where required.

Skills and Experience

We're looking for candidates who have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business
  • Preferably 4+ years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a professional services environment
  • Highly developed interpersonal and professional communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of internal clients
  • Capability in both strategic thinking and implementation
  • Project management skills.
  • Experience drafting proposals and tenders, capability statements, directory submissions and other marketing material
