The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an energetic Marketing and Business Development Co-ordinator to join our high performing team. This role will support the BD and Marketing team in a variety of business development and marketing initiatives. You will have full ownership of the firm-wide events portfolio and an opportunity to develop event processes and share your knowledge of industry best practice.

We are looking for someone who is driven, curious and has a willingness to push the boundaries. Ideally you will have 2-3 years experience working in a similar role in a professional services environment.

You will be a team player and have the ability to collaborate with all levels of seniority. The role will require you to work in a fast paced environment, with multiple stakeholders with competing priorities. It is essential that you are able to develop strong internal and external relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.

This role supports HopgoodGanim Lawyers and associated businesses of the HopgoodGanim Group and reports to the Business Development & Marketing Director with day to day supervision from the Brisbane based Business Development Manager.

This role is full time and will require some out of hours work at times to accommodate our events schedule.

Key responsibilities and duties – Marketing

  • Manage all aspects of event and corporate hospitality organisation, including strategy and planning, event brief preparation, liaising with client services staff and external contractors or venue personnel, invitation design and distribution, producing event/seminar materials, managing AV requirements, budget management, RSVP tracking and client feedback
  • Prepare debrief reports to relevant partners and BD&M team members on each key event to ensure return on investment and ongoing quality control
  • Develop and implement new processes to ensure quality events are delivered and managed consistently and adhere to industry best practice
  • Work with Partners and BD&M Managers in sponsorship/partnership activations and planning processes to ensure best practice. This includes preparing sponsorship plans to ensure ROI
  • Assist with all areas of digital marketing including, website, social media and email campaigns
  • Assist with editing content, thought leadership, and strategic communications
  • In conjunction with marketing colleagues, manage client lists to ensure currency of client information

Key responsibilities and duties – Business Development

  • Assist with the preparation of capability statements, tenders and presentations
  • Conduct client and competitor research and present to BD&M colleagues and stakeholders in a meaningful format
  • Work with the BD Managers and Bid Coordinator to maintain an up-to-date Experience Database and Bid Library
  • Work with practitioners and secretaries to ensure CVs are up-to-date
  • Input and update pursuit and client data on CRM system

Core skills and experience required:

  • Experience in a marketing or corporate events role preferably in a professional services environment
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and experience working with all levels of seniority
  • High levels of attention to detail
  • Experience working with CRM systems
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Adobe Indesign, Photoshop and Acrobat desirable but not essential
