The Opportunity

We’re seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Business Development Consultant to join our market- leading BD team.

Reporting to our Head of BD, Australia you’ll be partnering closely with our Real Estate practice group and sector to develop and support its strategy, grow profitable revenue, and enhance market position.

Acting as a trusted adviser, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the implementation of BD strategy across APAC including coaching partners and lawyers, evaluating progress against plan, and monitoring the implementation of key initiatives.
  • Facilitating connectivity and involvement of partners across practice groups in the Real Estate sector, including contributing to the building of sector knowledge, expertise, and relationships with relevant associations.
  • Acting as Client Relationship Manager for a priority client to the Real Estate sector or practice; and engaging in and encouraging active support of the firm’s client listening program.
  • Leading and/or assisting in facilitating major pursuits through identification, developing value propositions, coordinating input and drafting content.
  • Project managing significant Real Estate bids and providing associated pitch training and development to Real Estate team members.
  • Set up and manage the Real Estate practice BD budget, advising on spend as required.

This is a 12 month maximum term contract and can be based in our Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane offices.

Skills & Experience

You'll be client-centric with demonstrated experience in identifying opportunities, building strategic relationships and networks. You'll also have:

  • An undergraduate degree in marketing, commerce, business or related discipline.
  • 5 years+ experience in a business development role with a particular focus on strategic selling, pursuits management, account management, preferably in a professional services environment.
  • Technical knowledge of business development specifically in tactical sales, negotiation and the principles of relationship building.
  • Sound knowledge of corporate Australia and the Real Estate industry would be an advantage.
  • Project management skills as well as experience in managing major bids.
  • Demonstrated sound organisational, planning and project administration skills.
  • Ability to confidently communicate and deal with partners, managers, staff and clients at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders whilst maintaining a firm-first approach with decision making.

Our brand, marketing and digital team help position us as thought leaders amongst our target markets in the areas we most want to be known for, by creating intuitive and engaging collateral, events and campaigns.

As part of the business development team, you will play a hands-on role in contributing to the firm’s success and helping to achieve its objectives. This could be as one of our business development professionals, coaching partners on relationship building or building our brand as one of our marketing, design or events professionals.
