The Role

Becoming a member of a regional committee provides individual members with the opportunity to expand their professional network at the highest level, gain recognition as an industry leader and contribute to the broader strategic direction of the ICON organisation.

Each committee has approximately 7-10 members and is managed by a Chair, sometimes with a co-Chair and Secretary. Committees are supported by the General Manager and Secretariat in the delivery of local activities.

Regional Committee members can go on to join the National Board of ICON.

To express your interest in joining a Regional Committee, contact the Committee Chair.

What can committee members do:

  • Work together to develop a yearly event programme for circulation to members 
  • Connect with other Events team people across the region
  • Assist with finding and arranging speakers, topics, venues and invitation text.
  • Liaise with the speakers on presentation before events
  • Meet/greet speakers and participants on the day, introduce them and provide a wrap up
  • Meet and develop relationships with key stakeholders at organisations/companies who may be interested in sponsoring ICON in the chapter (including events and other initiatives)

  • Provide updates of securing sponsorship opportunities (and pipeline) at chapter monthly meetings.Identify/secure sponsorship opportunities for event streams including the Annual Conference, Toolkit, Masterclass, Social, and Industry Insight.

  • Provide updates at bi-monthly sponsorship meetings by tele-conference with ICON HQ
