About the role

We are currently seeking an experienced Marketing/Communications Coordinator to join our BD & Marketing team based in our Sydney office in a full time capacity.

The purpose of this role is to work with members of the Australian Business Development team, as well as the firm's lawyers, to help build the external profile of K&L Gates in Australia and enhance internal communications to create brand ambassadors.

What does the role involve?

Reporting to the PR and Communications Manager, this position assists in:

  • Managing the execution of the firm's participation in awards, including drafting submissions.
  • Supporting the business development team on the firm's participation in legal directories, by assisting with the coordination, review and drafting of submissions.
  • Supporting the business development team on the preparation of major pitch and tender documents, including reviewing and drafting content.
  • Drafting content for various channels such as newsletters, social media and marketing materials.
  • Assisting with the assessment of opportunities for brand building in the region via sponsorship, partnerships and other strategic affiliations.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of content marketing and thought leadership campaigns, including conducting thorough research, drafting content and managing project deliverables.

You should be practical and proactive in your approach in addition to demonstrating strong problem solving skills and work well in a team.

The ideal candidate will have previous work experience (around 1 - 2 years) in a professional environment in a similar role. You will hold tertiary qualifications in English, communications, marketing, journalism or a similar discipline and exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

You have strong organisational and interpersonal skills, exceptional stakeholder management skills, are detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects and daily deadlines. You have the ability to work independently, exercise good judgment and use discretion with sensitive information.
