About the role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Coordinator (BDC) to join our Business Development and Marketing team, based in our Melbourne office.

Reporting to the Director of Business Development, the BDC role is key to driving the marketing and business development activities of the firm.

What does the role involve?

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • assisting to prepare capability statements and tender documents
  • liaising with partners, practice group members and client teams on BD initiatives
  • disseminating marketing collateral such as brochures, alerts, articles, publications, profiles and website material
  • analysing and reporting on industries and clients
  • organising and implementing client relationship and profile building activities such as blogs and social media
  • providing support on global, regional and national BD projects.

We are looking for an experienced BD Coordinator with professional services marketing experience within the legal industry. This role is a great opportunity for candidates with strong business partnering skills and who wants to be a part of growing the K&L Gates brand and client base across Asia Pacific and globally.

This role has key stakeholders in Australia and requires candidates with a proven track record in managing and preparing large scale tenders as well as ad hoc pitches and capability statements. We expect this role to play a true adviser role for our partners in focussing their business development efforts. Appropriate tertiary qualifications would be highly regarded with a minimum of at least 2 years' experience working in professional services or the legal industry.

You should be practical and proactive in your approach in addition to demonstrating strong problem solving skills. A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office is also expected as are excellent organisation and communication skills.
