Our client is a National commercially focused law firm who work with leading national and international clients. The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join their team on a 12-month Contract. Reporting into the Chief Operating Officer this position will be responsible for the development and implementation of business development and marketing related strategies. You will work closely with the Local and State Government industry group, P&E, Real Estate and construction groups.


Some of your key responsibilities will be:

  • Provide exceptional support to the nominated Industry and client relationship partners on client initiatives to deepen relationships, including development of strategic marketing plans, client relationship strategies, budget preparation and monitoring various reporting where applicable.
  • Work with the above allocated practice groups to internally and externally promote their capabilities throughout the firm, markets and geographies.
  • The implementation and evaluation of the firm’s business development strategies and contribute to the growth and future direction of the BDM team.
  • Project manage tender responses and credentials by undertaking required research, evaluating opportunities, coordinating input from lawyers and writing relevant sections.
  • Proactively build and maintain effective working relationships with partners, managers, other staff, clients and external service providers


To be successful in this role, you will have at least 5 years of experience as a Business Development Manager preferably within the Legal industry or professional services.


  • Degree in Marketing is desirable
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Sound knowledge of CRM and business processes
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to lead and effectively manage the performance, output and development of direct reports.
