The Role

We are currently seeking a Business Development Manager to join the team in our vibrant Sydney office. This role will work with the Director of BDM to support the implementation, evaluation of the firm’s marketing and business development strategies and drive our brand in the Sydney market. You will form part of a growing Business Development and Marketing department with a strong team culture of setting each other up for success.

General responsibilities will include:

  • Support significant growth in the Sydney market
  • Working alongside Director on the Government Portfolio
  • National portfolio of an Industry Group
  • Working directly with Partners
  • Launch and drive new and innovative initiatives
  • Direct client activities and engagement
  • Roll out, execute and report on strategies
  • Client account management
  • Implement business and marketing plans that have some commercial viability
  • Plan, organise and manage significant business development and marketing projects
  • Contribute to ongoing promotion and development of the McCullough Robertson brand


The successful candidate will have tertiary qualifications in a business or communications related discipline, a minimum of five years’ experience in a BD role within the Legal industry. We are looking for someone who is ambitious, driven, a self-starter and who is looking for challenge.

You must also demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Highly proficient verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to present at the highest level within the firm and within the client environment
  • Ability to direct activities and engagement
  • Flexibility to undertake a range of complex tasks, manage conflicting priorities and work hours necessary to meet business objectives
  • Experience working in a Law firm
