The Opportunity

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager in Brisbane on an initial fulltime, 12 month maternity leave contract.

The role of the Business Development Manager is to lead on delivering strategic and tactical marketing and business development for our national practice, reporting directly to the firm’s Managing Director.

In this role, you will work closely with key internal and external stakeholders to enhance and grow market visibility and penetration in key segments. This role encompass a broad range of duties and responsibilities, including:

  • Lead and drive best in class business development and marketing activities in line with national strategy;
  • Manage the provision of procurement responses including tenders, capability statements and proposals. You will be responsible for developing bids and other BD related material which will require you to gain an understanding of the firm, areas of industry focus and markets, services and people;
  • Develop and manage a strong tendering culture, but also ensure compliance with best practice throughout the bid process;
  • Drafting responses including re-working content from the firm's content library and working with subject matter experts to develop tailored content;
  • Lead strategic initiatives with direction and guidance from the Managing Director;
  • Develop and implement marketing campaigns to help drive brand awareness, consideration and advocacy, drive new growth and maximise retention;
  • Develop go to market plans and identify the best channel mix to support the objectives of each campaign and build reputation in chosen thought leadership areas; including but not limited to digital, social media and events; and
  • Manage the delivery of communications activity events, sponsorship, internal and external communications.

Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications, Business or similar;
  • Proven experience developing and executing business development, marketing and communications strategies within a professional services, banking or financial services environment;
  • Proven experience in the development and production of client centric tenders, delivering successful campaign activity and audience engagement initiatives;
  • Highly developed communication skills with excellent attention to detail;
  • Excellent project management skills;
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders at all levels in order to effectively drive and support marketing plans and brand strategy initiatives;
  • Outstanding leadership skills, we care about you and invest in the development of team members;
  • Be proactive, strategic and innovative in your approach to business development;
  • Understand how to add value to clients and targets through business development approaches;
  • Demonstrate strong stakeholder management; and
  • Deliver excellent client service and have strong emotional intelligence.
