The Team

Our national Client & Market Growth team at MinterEllison is a critical component of the firm and essential to the firm's success. The team supports the partnership by providing the full spectrum of business development and marketing services to ensure the firm develops and maintains strong relationships with new and existing clients.

Our successful team is recruiting an experienced Business Development Manager (Market Growth Manager) to drive the marketing strategy for the Insurance and Corporate Risk (ICR) group for a 12 month fixed term contract.

Your Role

You will be involved in a broad range of duties and responsibilities such as:

  • Develop and lead the implementation of national, integrated marketing and sales plans that support the achievement of the ICR business strategy and plan with a focus on revenue growth. Ensure alignment with the firm's CMG strategy and the one firm go-to-market model
  • Foster relationships both in ICR and broader CMG group that are collaborative, innovative and value adding and ensure high quality service delivery to the ICR business unit
  • Support Partners in assessing sales opportunities and formulating responses to clients, including leveraging support from Major Pursuits and Tenders team as appropriate
  • Provide sales coaching for specific Partners and Lawyers and attend client meetings where appropriate
  • Engage with Partners and Lawyers to leverage marketing and sales activities to generate client demand
  • Facilitate the capture of business opportunities for ICR into a formalised sales pipeline to enable reporting against business objectives
  • Drive the development and execution of positioning and demand generation campaigns and offerings in the market for ICR, including formulation and leverage of thought leadership
  • Measure, report and assess effectiveness of marketing and sales initiatives including identifying and incorporating continuous improvement into future activities
  • Facilitate training and support for the capture and updating of relevant information for the ICR business unit in the CRM system
  • Contribution to supporting the ICR business unit achieve their revenue budget

More About You

We welcome you to apply if you:

  • Tertiary qualified in Marketing, Commerce or other Business discipline
  • At least 5 years experience working within a similar role, ideally within a Legal, Professional Services or Insurance firm
  • A strong understanding of relevant market and industry sectors
  • Experience in a range of B2B BD / marketing roles with a focus on product and / or segment management, campaign development, communications and project management
  • Commercially focused with strong analytical, planning and project management skills
  • Business and BD planning and campaign development and execution
  • Experience in dealing with multiple and senior stakeholders
  • Sound financial acumen
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Demonstrated ability to effective delegate tasks , manage delivery of results and motivate others to deliver within agreed time frames
  • A commitment to achieving results through teamwork, and a willingness to mentor and develop others
