Our national Client & Market Growth team at MinterEllison is a high performing and critical component of the firm and essential to the firm's success. The team supports the partnership by providing the full spectrum of business development and marketing services to ensure the firm develops and maintains strong relationships with new and existing clients.

Job description

An opportunity has opened in the Client & Market Growth team for an Events Consultant in the Sydney office.

In this vital role, you will be responsible for the management of events in the Sydney office. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and implementing large and small scale off-site client events as well as significant client events held internally
  • Smooth implementation and management of our client events. This includes seminars, workshops, client hospitality and events we host on behalf of partnerships we have in place with various associations and foundation partners
  • Assisting with national events as developed by our various businesses and working with the Event Consultants in each location
  • Supporting our Sydney Events Team Leader on the implementation of client and internal events held on our stunning client floor. This will include seminars, workshops, client entertainment and events that we host on behalf of partnerships we have in place with various memberships, associations and foundation partners
  • Maintaining the local events calendar and taking responsibility for the financial budgets associated with each event
  • Working as a high performing member of our national events team, and providing support to event colleagues depending on capacity and availability.

Your role will involve:

  • All aspects of event management from the initial inception and scoping, through to delivery
  • Manage all aspects autonomously. This includes liaising with internal and external stakeholders regarding room set-up and catering, sourcing and booking external suppliers as required, invitation design and distribution, monitoring event/seminar materials, AV requirements, table planning, RSVP tracking and client feedback
  • Manage 'on the day' logistics of all events
  • Prepare debrief reports
  • Set, manage, report and code individual event costings to ensure they are within key budgets.
  • Preparation of event attendee follow-ups: updating the database and ensuring client thank you notes are delivered.

More about you

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and resourceful professional with:

  • 3 years' experience in corporate event management particularly from a professional services environment
  • Ability to take on a high volume of events throughout the year
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and experience working with all levels of seniority
  • Excellent written and oral skills
  • Ability to manage your time effectively with competing demands
  • Strong administrative skills and experience working with Content Management Systems
  • An understanding of working within a large professional partnership
  • A strong, proactive client service focus
  • Ambition to achieve results and contribute to the success of our business
