We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Business Development Consultant to join our Business Development team in Melbourne.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Tenders & Bids

  • Support the Government focused practice groups and sector teams in project managing bids; including tactical requirements and initiating strategy discussions.
  • Manage the development of tenders and capability statements relevant to allocated Practice and Marketing Teams.
  • Write various business documents including tenders, business plans and capability statements.
  • Functional role in collation of material and production of the bid documents.
  • Maintain the internal experience database of key proposal information.
  • Business Development
  • Work with the Government focused practice and sector groups to develop and implement a clear and strategic business plan and identify business opportunities with existing clients and prospects.
  • Be the first Business Development point of contact for the allocated Practice and Marketing groups.
  • Provide operational support to implement business plans; including campaign development and management, writing of marketing material, event management and marketing communications.
  • Hold groups accountable to marketing plans and budget.
  • Work with allocated Practice and Marketing groups on Key Client Management planning.

Credentials & Profiling

  • Media monitoring.
  • Writing, editing, designing and distributing various materials, including:
  • Capability Statements;
  • Credentials;
  • CVs;
  • Website;
  • Newsletters;
  • Invitations;
  • Account Management

Work with the BDM to:

  • Grow revenue from government client accounts;
  • Increase penetration into the government clients;
  • Ensure quality service delivery; and

Use Russell Kennedy’s CRM program to produce reports, track opportunities and conduct account planning for clients and prospects.

General Business Development Duties

In addition, you will support the Business Development team in its wider operational responsibilities:

  • Contributing to reports to management;
  • Participating in firm wide initiatives as required;
  • Desktop publishing support, invitations etc. as required;
  • Tracking and recording Business Development expenses incurred by your Practice Groups;
  • Supporting the BDM in transfer of Business Development skills to fee earners;
  • Attending training to develop own skills;
  • Recommending and managing sponsorships; and
  • General administrative support and assistance as required.

Working effectively with the Marketing Assistant to provide clear direction and support with specific areas of work including event management, communications design and distribution, brochure and profile maintenance.

Experience

Minimum 4 years tendering experience post qualification business development / marketing or related experience, ideally in a professional services environment.
