The Opportunity

The Brand & Clients team has been at the centre of Urbis’ repositioning, the launch of its international business - Cistri, and has been a driving force contributing to the delivery of the company’s ambitious and exciting strategy – to shape cities and communities for a better tomorrow. The team has been the catalyst for the exciting transformation and growth of the business in both its clients, type of work and brand impact.

With one of our team due to take parental leave, we are seeking a talented, strategic, collaborative #cityshaper to play a pivotal role in the development and delivery of the company’s client, marketing and business development strategies. In this role, you will partner with our key internal and external stakeholders to identify and deliver opportunities to reinforce and grow our client relationships, partnerships and strategic market opportunities. You will be high energy, collaborative, and market savvy and just as happy devising strategies with your peers and colleagues around the country as you are rolling up your sleeves to implement – all with a smile on your face and a healthy dose of good humour. It is the most senior Brand & Clients position in the Queensland office and will involve both project and people management.

Your Skills

You will be laser focussed in your understanding of our client relationships, and adept at spotting opportunities (both internal and external) to strengthen and grow these ties. You are strategically and commercially minded but also understand the power of relationships, rapport and communication.

As the Brand & Clients Manager, based in Brisbane but with national reach, your responsibilities will include:

  • Shaping the strategies, frameworks and initiatives to grow market impact and promote client centricity
  • Development and delivery of business development and marketing strategies and plans across the business working in partnership with national key client, sector and business groups.
  • Advocate and instil a business development/client management philosophy, framework and practice that resonates with Urbis’ culture
  • Elevate the ‘client voice’ within Urbis – by developing and sharing client insights via Client Listening, client reporting and market intelligence
  • Advise on strategic bids and opportunities with respect to positioning, value articulation and process.
  • Advise and inform the creation of high quality, high impact, well-constructed content (beyond print) to support client growth strategies
  • Drive the delivery of a client feedback program, with an emphasis on surfacing insights to inform business decisions and enhance client service
  • Contribute to the development of market leading brand awareness and profiling strategies to reinforce the firm’s market position
  • Coach and advise the business on business development, pitch strategies and client conversations
  • Be the lynchpin – drive, collate and share client/BD knowledge including pitch experience, best in class tenders, and ideas for BD/marketing campaigns
  • Comply with all OHS policies and procedures, reporting any identified hazards and incidents
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of occupational health and safety, and promote compliance by others
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce/Marketing or relevant working experience
  • Proven experience in a business development, marketing or client management role
  • Excellent understanding and practical application of general marketing and client management principles.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment
