Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is an important aspect of any online presence. Direct URL access (e.g. typing in a domain name) is no longer the core method of accessing sites. More and more traffic is referral traffic from search engines – both organic (SEO) and paid (SEM). From the perspective of managing a brand or individual online presence, organic SEO is critical to any person telling their best story.

SEO is not the exclusive domain of the company webmaster/digital team. Rather everyone has a role to play – SEO is something everyone owns within an organisation, and requires communications, marketing and executive input to succeed.

Michael Smyth, Director (Profile Services) at Zanity will put this into the context of the professional services environment, detailing how professional services marketers can work with their key stakeholders to optimise their personal and their organisation’s online presence.

This session will cover the five W's and one H of SEO:

  • What is SEO?
  • Why should we care about SEO?
  • Who owns SEO?
  • Where do we ‘do’ SEO?
  • When do we ‘do’ SEO?
  • How do we ‘do’ SEO?
