ICON Mentoring

Mentoring is strong within the ICON community and this facilitated program actively connects mentors and mentees in the same geographic region.

ICON’s most senior members take pride in giving back to the profession via mentoring relationships and mentees benefit from the significant experience and networks of these leaders.

ICON’s mentoring program, run via the Next Step program, encourages mentees to take ownership of their own goals and aspirations and actively seek advice from their mentors. Mentors encourage mentees to identify current and future challenges, helping them to become prepared and resilient professionals.

Mentors also benefit from the program by polishing their leadership skills and getting fresh perspectives from younger professionals.

The program encourages mentees to:

Identify goals and create strategies to achieve these goals

Receive advice and networking opportunities

Confront and discuss existing challenges

Identify their next challenge

Mentors will benefit from:

Developing their own leadership skills while helping others to develop theirs

Learning from mentees’ innovative ideas and concepts

Developing creative solutions to challenges presented by the mentee

Helping to shape the careers of marketers within professional services

Giving back to the professional services sector  which they have been part of for many years

There are both immediate and long term benefits for mentees:

Strategies and tools for achieving career aspirations

A stronger sense of professional self

Increased self esteem and confidence

Improvement in existing skills and development of new skills

An insight into leadership and management roles

Increased networking opportunities

ICON is looking for senior professionals in our member firms who are interested in giving back to our profession by mentoring participants in this year’s Next Step program. If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, please get in touch.
