ICON in partnership with Katanya presents: the Digital Decoded Series - Machine Learning – an introduction, for humans.

Machine learning is a term that we may hear fee earners use, but what actually is it?

Machine learning is a subset of artificial intelligence, in the field of computer science that is centered on statistical techniques which give computers the ability to "learn" from data in an autonomous way. It is how PayPal can so readily and accurately identify fraudulent transactions. And it is used in ways you may not realise; if you get arrested in the state of New Jersey, the Public Safety Assessment machine learning algorithm will set your bail!

As technology advances and our roles develop, it is important for BD professionals to be on top of trends when speaking to others in our businesses. This session will demystify this complex topic by covering:

  • An introduction to machine learning – what is and what isn’t machine learning, to help when you are speaking to others about it;
  • Key techniques of machine learning – how it works and central theories behind machine learning;
  • Application across clients and industries – how clients and industries are using machine learning, to help shape conversations with fee earners.

Digital is reshaping how we work, how we as consumers buy, and how we as marketers connect with our customers. It is creating, destroying and reshaping industries. The disruption is constant and the speed of change is accelerating. The Digital Decoded Series brings together people who are tied into this DNA. They’re helping their organisations to take advantage of new opportunities, avoid new risks and/or creating disruption within their marketplace.

The events are designed to be interactive, to get you thinking and to give you take-aways to continue those conversations with your team, your organisation and your network.
