As we now enter the next phase of ‘coexisting with COVID’ there’s an opportunity to consider how you take the lessons learnt from responding to, and surviving through, the pandemic phase into how you thrive in the ‘new normal’.
Strategically, you may continue to seek ways to reduce operational costs or enhance ways of working to gain (or sustain) productivity improvements in the medium to long-term through work delivered in new and technology-enabled ways. Or most likely, both.
EY’s recently completed, global Work Reimagined survey of more than 16,000 employees, including more than 1,000 across Australia and New Zealand, shows for most industries and countries there’s no ‘going back’ to the old normal – 9 out of 10 employees want flexibility in where and when they work, and 54% of employees are likely to quit if they aren’t offered this ongoing approach to hybrid working. This represents both a threat (for those not willing or able to embed hybrid working) and an opportunity (to tap into new labour markets and skills, both in terms of geography and from other industries).
Matt Lovegrove, EY People Advisory Partner, will share with you insights from this research and bring it to life through case studies and explore what this means for the Australian economy and Professional Services sector.
