Join us to hear from our cross-industry panel who will share their insights in working with professional services firms and the changing role of consultancy over the past five years. 

The panel will discuss behaviours, best practice client management and the changing expectations of clients within their industry. Facilitator Lisa Leong will also cover how learnings from clients can be implemented into your business development and marketing strategies. 

About our panel members:

Elise Latimer, Senior Lawyer, IP & IT Legal, ANZ: Elise is a Senior Lawyer in the Technology legal team at ANZ.  Prior to this, she established and led the Procurement legal team at ANZ where she managed different models for delivering legal services. Elise really enjoys the close working relationship with the business team that being in-house offers. She also recognises the importance of strong relationships with external providers. She recently undertook a secondment with ANZ’s Regulatory Relations team, where she worked closely with the Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority. In addition to a Bachelor of Laws, Elise holds a Bachelor of Architectural Studies and a Masters in Professional and Applied Ethics.


Nick Peace, Head of Corporate Development at Aconex
: Nick leads corporate development at Aconex, with responsibility for mergers and acquisitions, corporate growth initiatives and ecosystem engagement. Aconex provides the leading cloud and mobile collaboration platform for the global construction and engineering sectors. Nick brings a unique perspective on digital transformation in a sector that has historically been focused on making incremental changes and improvements – and the impact of this change on contractors, consultants and professional services firms. Before joining Aconex, Nick was an investment director at Starfish Ventures, a leading Australian venture capital firm. Earlier in his career, he worked as a mergers and acquisitions lawyer at top tier law firms in Australia and the United Kingdom. Nick holds a Masters of Business Administration (with Distinction) from INSEAD, and a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Melbourne.

Lisa Leong, BD Lead, Client Development, Herbert Smith Freehills: Lisa is a former Technology Lawyer and ABC Breakfast Radio Presenter who is a global leader in Client-Centred Innovation in the legal industry and an expert advisor on Strategic Account Leadership. Lisa and her partner-in-crime, Tristan Forrester, developed the award-winning* framework “Re-Imagine Legal”, which applies design thinking and lean/agile approaches to co-create innovative solutions that address pressing needs, resulting in significant and quantifiable results. Lisa is a graduate of the Customer-Focused Innovation program of Stanford University’s GSB and the Stanford d.school, and has just returned from the Harvard Law School Colloquium for Global Leaders of Legal Innovation in Oct 2016.
