Best practice approaches for Legal 500 highlighted by the Asia Pacific Editor, John Van Der Luit-Drummond

Part of the fabric of modern legal marketing, the directories are an important guide to the leading law firms around the world. With 4.2 million website users in 2017, The Legal 500 is both a valuable resource for clients and a tool for law firms to measure success against their competitors. Submission season for The Legal 500 is fast approaching and with that in mind, John Van Der Luit-Drummond, editor of the Asia Pacific guide, will be giving a presentation on the research process and how to tailor your submissions into a format that gives the best chance of getting your firm ranked or promoted.

About the speaker:

  John studied law and worked in both regional and boutique UK-based law firms before embarking on a career as a journalist at several well-known legal publications. Prior to joining The Legal 500, he was deputy editor of Solicitors Journal and was nominated for a legal reporting award for his coverage of legal affairs and exclusive interviews with leading lawyers, jurists, and politicians. John’s role as UK Bar and Asia Pacific Editor is to build relationships with lawyers in the UK and Asia Pacific, oversee The Legal 500 coverage in both directories, and edit chapters.
