Join JLL’s Mark Tipper and Vickie Chiu as they take us through “Stories of Ambition” – an award-winning and revolutionary brand campaign.
To bring the company’s Achieve Ambitions brand promise to life, JLL sponsored six young climbers from across Asia Pacific and produced a nine-part documentary series following the climbers’ ambition to represent their countries at the (now postponed) Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Team GB’s climbing coach, Ian Dunn took the athletes to a training camp in Japan, giving them access to the world’s best climbing facilities. They also created a smart climbing suit that allowed the athletes and trainers to analyse movements like never before and advance high-performance climbing.
The series was hosted on National Geographic as part of a publishing partnership and the campaign won multiple awards including a Webby, Bronze at the International Content Marketing Awards and The Drum’s Best B2B Brand Marketing campaign.

Mark is an internationally acclaimed Creative Director with 30 years’ experience in delivering inspirational advertising for some of the World’s favourite brands including UNICEF, Nike, WWF, Canon, Porsche, McDonald's, American Express, Chanel, Google, Netflix and Unilever to name a few; helping them to obtain hundreds of awards including Cannes Lions, BAFTA, Webby and D&AD awards.
He is currently helping JLL through a global rebrand and ongoing business transformation keeping them relevant, innovative and market leaders. As an active member of international design committees and judging panels, Mark is also a supporter of mentorship programs such as School of Communication Arts and Cannes Young Lions.
Vickie Chiu
Brand Director, JLL Asia Pacific
Vickie is the Brand Director for Asia Pacific at JLL where she led the brand strategy for JLL’s multi award-winning brand campaign, Stories of Ambition. Overseeing 14 markets, she’s the region’s authority on brand excellence, creative copy and the consultant on all regional agency briefs.
With over 12 years of experience in brand, marketing and communications, she has worked in the education, architecture and construction sectors. Prior to joining JLL in Singapore in 2016, she was Head of Marketing at ISG in London.
