In professional services, the pressure to please can feel overwhelming - especially in support roles. But constantly putting others’ needs before your own might be doing more harm to your career than good.
Take a moment to reflect:
- Do you feel stressed at the thought of disappointing someone at work?
- Are you always focusing on others’ needs while neglecting your own?
- Do you rarely ask for help or support, believing you must handle everything yourself to avoid appearing incapable?
If you’re thinking, 'OMG, that so me!' - this session is for you!
Join Dr. Katherine Iscoe as she unpacks the mindset of the high-achieving people-pleaser in us all. Learn how this mindset keeps us playing it ‘safe’ and discover strategies to break free, prioritise your needs, and take charge of your career.
Key takeaways
- Understand the mindset of the high-achieving people-pleaser (that lives in all of us) and why it makes us play things 'safe'.
- The importance of knowing AND communicating your worth (without feeling like an arrogant jerk).
- How to stop dwelling over a mistake and move on (rather than letting it keep you awake at 3am in the morning).
- How to challenge yourself to take bigger risks and look at 'failure' in a new light (that isn’t cringe-worthy).

Dr Katherine Iscoe is a female motivational speaker who challenges leaders to take bigger risks by letting go of imaginary judgement and criticism.
Dr Katherine Iscoe is a female motivational speaker who challenges leaders to take bigger risks by letting go of imaginary judgement and criticism.
She is also a board member, a former tech CEO of a dually-listed public company, author, multiple scholarship winner, and summa cum laude graduate. While she is proud of these achievements, she considers them perfect examples of the masks we all wear. Because the reality is these accomplishments hid a debilitating eating disorder, severe depression, and suicidal thoughts.
Through these experiences she discovered that as a high-achiever, external validation and praise, not inner motivation fuelled her pursuits. And as a people pleaser, she couldn’t be a true leader when her main goal was trying to be everyone’s best friend.
Through a powerful mix of humour and vulnerability, Katherine candidly reveals her personal battles with self-doubt and self-destruction and reveals the strategies that got her unstuck.
