Distractions are everywhere – particularly in our tech-saturated world. Smartphones alone are a huge distraction in this modern age – it’s estimated that we pick up our phones an average of 85 times per day.

How do we limit the tech and other distractions that prevent us from being productive, delivering our work and progressing faster in our careers.

In this session we will:

  • Help you recognise workspace distractions
  • Share strategies to help avoid distraction and deliver work more efficiently
  • Discuss the physical and mental benefits of a more focused and purposeful approach in our work routines

Presenter details:

Collin Liu is Chief Operating Officer (COO) and a member of the regional executive committee at Rajah & Tann Asia. A chartered accountant by profession, Collin has worked in professional services for more than 20 years, starting at PwC London as an international tax advisor, before leading business development and marketing and communications at PwC Singapore and Allen & Gledhill LLP, and thereafter COO (Asia) at Baker McKenzie.

Collin is a firm believer and advocate in business staff adding tremendous value as business professionals, partners and technologists and takes immense pride when firm management and partners recognise and appreciate the “non-lawyers” as being an integral part of practice, transformation and success. Outside of work, Collin serves as a board member at the Singapore Art Museum and Chair of the Singapore LSE Trust.

Fraser McNaughton is the Chief Marketing Officer at Grant Thornton Australia. Based in Sydney he leads a national team responsible for defining and delivering Grant Thornton’s go to market vision, strategy and objectives.

Fraser is an experienced and intuitive marketing and sales professional who, as a member of Grant Thornton’s executive team, has a particular passion for improving client interactions as a driver of better client experiences and the foundation to brand loyalty and sustainable revenue growth. He has over 25 years’ experience. Outside of work Fraser enjoys quality time with his family and prolonging his football career as long as he can. He is also currently acting President at ICON APAC.

Louise is a training manager at Origin Energy and is a self-confessed word nerd who happens to love crafting content. Delivering workplace learning allows her to do this in a range of media, working with different people and picking up a lot of random facts about different industries along the way.

Commencing with Ford Motor Company, she enjoyed a brief interlude as a management consultant with a Ford joint venture in Europe, then pivoted to lead learning and development initiatives in sectors such as tertiary education, rail and now energy. Louse lives in Melbourne with her husband, two sons and recently acquired rescue beagle. She escapes the mayhem by going for a run and singing with a choir.
